Robert F. Kennedy: Limited First Edition, To Seek a Newer World, Signed, 1967. Leather bound, 5.5" x 8.25," 233 pp, Doubleday, Garden City, New York, 1967.

Robert F. Kennedy's book To Seek a Newer World contains a collection of essays based on his speeches, travels, and experiences both as U.S. Attorney General in the cabinet of his brother, President John F. Kennedy, as well as United States Senator. The essays address the challenges of the time and provide insight into the kind of president he might have been. Following publication in 1967, RFK had several copies bound in leather with gilt bands and lettering to give as gifts. This is one of those limited editions, which he gave to Providencia Paredes, former personal attendant to Jacqueline Kennedy who later worked for the Robert F. Kennedy family. RFK writes in black felt tip pen ink in full: "For Provi / XXOO / Robert F Kennedy / Christmas 1967 / And what Pres Kennedy said / about you and Secty Rusk is / correct -" The inscription refers to a remark by President Kennedy that Provi was smarter than Secretary of State Dean Rusk. Certificate of authenticity signed by Ms. Paredes. Cover slightly scuffed and worn, pages very lightly stained on fore-edge. Otherwise, in fine condition. From the collection of Providencia Paredes.
