    Langston Hughes Twice-Signed Copy of An African Treasury. New York: Crown Publishers, Inc., 1960. First edition, second printing. Octavo, 207 pages with biographical notes. Signed on the front free endpaper "For my friends, the Rhodes - Sincerely - Langston / New York, April 12, 1961" and again "Langston Hughes" at the conclusion of the introduction, which he wrote. Quarter cloth bound boards with brown lettering at the spine. With the original dust jacket.

    A selection of Hughes' writings, including essays, fiction and poetry, "gathered from several thousands of pages of writing by Africans of color that I have read during the past six years".

    Condition: Toning, chipping, and rubbing to the dust jacket. Bumping and wear to the spine edges and the board corners. Sound binding and boldly signed.
