Publisher's white paper boards with gilt titles and decoration, and blue accents. Gilt top edges with remaining edges untrimmed. Volume I with cracked hinges. Inner glassine dust jackets with outer blue paper dust jackets. Outer jackets show some edge darkening and soiling with rubbing and occasional tears. A near fine set.

    More Information:

Text of first limitation page reads: "This edition is limited to four hundred and ninety-nine numbered sets and ten sets for presentation." It is numbered "33."

The second limitation page (pictured) reads: "This edition is limited to three hundred and seventy-seven copies. The first volume of each set is signed by the author." The space for the number of this set is blank. Below this text is the signature of Joseph Conrad. At the bottom of the page is this text, added after Mr. Conrad had signed the un-numbered limitation pages: "Publisher's Note: At the time of Mr. Conrad's death he had signed only ninety-nine of these pages. It was necessary to change the plan, and these signature pages are here incorporated in this Memorial Edition."

As such, the "Memorial Edition" consists of 99 signed copies, of which this is number 33.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
