    John Steinbeck. East of Eden. New York: The Viking Press, 1952. Autographed First edition. Limited edition, one of 1500 copies, signed by the author to the limitation page. Octavo. 602 pages. Publisher's green coarse woven cloth, upper cover lettered in gilt, spine decorated in brown and gilt. Lacking glassine wrapper and publisher's case. Corners bumped and rubbed, minor edgewear, head and foot of spine just pushed, rubbed and somewhat soiled, 0.75-inch abrasion to upper board affecting the "K" in the author's name. Plain white endpapers; light pencil notations. Internally clean and tight, all edges trimmed and stained terra cotta; minor foxing to a few gutters, minor text block edgewear. Very good.
