    Edition Remarque, limited to 14 of which this the author's personal copy, unnumbered and out of sequence. Signed by Lee Fairchild and Jean Paleologue on limitation page. Lengthy author inscription on second free endpaper, explaining that sketches are done by artist friends. Quarto. Unpaginated. Illustrated throughout with original drawings of the author by contemporary artists.

    Publisher's full blue morocco with gilt ruling and decoration. Titles in gilt on backstrip. Gilt inner-dentelles with full red morocco doublures. Top edge gilt with remaining edges untrimmed. Red silk endpapers. Illustrated with 26 drypoints by Paleologue. Though four states of each plate are called for in this edition, only the three uncolored sets are represented with one hand-colored plate present. Binding is mildly rubbed. Toning to pages with occasional abrading to fore-edges. Housed in rubbed and scuffed custom leather slipcase. A unique item in near fine condition. From the Estate of John McLaughlin.
