A few minor bumps to spine ends and board edges, else very fine. Dust jacket is creased and worn, with several small tears, chips, and paper loss at spine ends. Signed in black ink on half title: "To Colonel and Mrs. J.D. Atwood with kindest regards from Harry Truman 12/12/58." Atwood was a prominent force in the development of oil and gas in the early days of U.S. exploration and drilling. He most likely gained access to Truman through his business partner, Ross L. Malone, who served as Deputy Attorney General during the concluding months of the Truman administration. [and:] Years of Trial and Hope. Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, 1956. First edition.
