Signed and inscribed by the author to the front free endpaper recto in blue fountain pen, "To Dr. Muncie (?) / best wishes and / good luck always / Ernest Hemingway." Octavo. 471 pages. Publisher's beige linen with author's facsimile signature stamped in black to upper board and spine stamped in red and black. Spine sunned, foxed, and worn, minor edgewear, sprung. Endpapers toned with offsetting, ink ownership stamp to front pastedown, rear hinge weak but holding. Internally generally clean, fore-edge rough trimmed, other edges trimmed, top edge stained brown; text block toned along margins and edges, edges with minor soiling and wear. Very good. With University Archives Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
