Ellis Parker Butler: Inscribed & Signed 1906 Edition of Pigs Is Pigs. (New York: A. L. Burt Company, 1906), 37 pages, green cloth boards with pictorial cover, 12mo (4.5" x 7"), no dust jacket (as issued). Illustrated by Will Crawford. Inscribed and signed "Mrs. LB Aldrich 210 Clark Ave Billings Mont My dear Mrs. Aldrich - I am especially happy to be able to send you this copy of my first book, because you are a friend of my dear Daisy. Ellis Parker Butler Flushing NY Nov 1 / '18" on the front free endpaper. Pigs Is Pigs is a delightful satire of bureaucracy and ignorance first published in The American Magazine in 1905, and later adapted into an Academy Award-winning animated short by Disney in 1954. The book is in very good condition, with some shelf wear present, and the binding a bit shaken, but virtually no flaws in the text.
