    John Coleman Burroughs' Copy

Edgar Rice Burroughs. The Man Without a Soul. London: Methuen & Co., [1922]. First British edition. Inscribed by Danton Burroughs (Edgar Rice Burroughs' grandson): "From the collection of my father." Laid-in is a photograph of Danton Burroughs with several Edgar Rice Burroughs books, including this one. Also, laid-in is a printed presentation notice from the publisher. Octavo. 209 pages. Eight pages of ads. Red cloth over boards. Black lettering and designs to the spine and top board. Some slight sunning and moderate chipping to the dust jacket. Overall, a very good, clean, bright, and tight copy. This book is not to be confused with Burroughs' The Monster Men (which originally appeared in All-Story magazine as "A Man Without a Soul"). This book is the second half of The Mucker: Methuen & Co. published The Mucker in two volumes: The Mucker (1921), and The Man Without a Soul (1922). Heins, X3-7. From the Jerry Weist Collection.
