D.H. Lawrence. The Story of Dr. Manente. Being the Tenth and Last Story from the Suppers of A.F. Grazzini called Il Lasca. Florence: G. Orioli, [1929].
First edition, signed limited edition, one of 200 numbered copies on Binda handmade paper, signed by Lawrence. Octavo. 119 pages. Title page vignette and two additional plates.

Original cream paper boards with front cover and titling printed in red. Age toning to covers and spine; the brittle tissue covering the boards is cracking with some loss along the spine. Bookplate.Original textured paper case is worn and age toned, with some separation at corners. Lawrence's humorous tale of what he felt was the best Florentine practical joke on record. Although the limitation gives the total number of copies as 1,200, Orioli in his memoirs recalls being carried away by Lawrence's over-optimism and records that 2,400 were printed, though only 200 of the signed limited copies were issued.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
