Octavo. 55 pages. Publisher's illustrated paper over boards. Corners rubbed, moderate edgewear with some losses, hinges just starting, head and foot of spine chipped, spine worn with some losses, somewhat rubbed and toned. Cream endpapers; penciled notations to front endpapers, minor foxing. Internally generally clean and tight, top edge trimmed, other edges untrimmed; minor foxing chiefly to front and back of text block, text block edges toned and foxed with minor wear. Very good.

First serialized in The New England Magazine in 1892, The Yellow Wall Paper is classic short story of the horror genre, subtle and unsettling all at once. E. B. Bird designed the swirling cover art after the famed yellow wallpaper that drives the story's protagonist into insanity. The author married her second husband and took the surname Gilman in 1900.
