Arthur Miller Signed Book with Horowitz Check. Arthur Miller's Collected Plays. Inscribed & signed to the wife of Vladimir Horowitz,"To Voladia with my friendship Arthur Miller October 2/70" (New York: The Viking Press, 1967), eighth printing, 439 pages, half cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine, 8vo (6" x 8.5"), dust jacket. Interestingly, Miller signed this book to Mrs. Vladimir Horowitz in the same year that his works were banned in the Soviet Union because of his work with dissident writers in Russia. A 1977 Vladimir Horowitz signed check accompanies the Miller book. Two great artists in one great lot. There is slight soiling on the edges, with a small amount of red staining on the front board, and one small dent on the bottom right corner. Otherwise, the book is very good and a treat for any Arthur Miller fan.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
