    Alice Paul Signed Copy of Jailed for Freedom, by Doris Stevens, Also Signed by 14 Members of the National Woman's Party. Published by Boni and Liveright in New York in 1929, 8vo, 388 pages. Stevens tells the story of the "militant suffragists of America" and their quest to secure national suffrage for all women. Signed on the front endpaper by: Alice Paul, Nina Allender, a political cartoonist whose work was featured in The Suffragist; ; [Florence] Kenyon Hayden Rector, the first licensed female architect in Ohio and Financial Chairwoman of the NWP; Mary Brandon; Maud Younger; Sue S. White; Edith Ainge; Mabel Vernon; Anne Martin; Helena Hill Weed; Dora Lewis; Mary H. Ingham; Adelaide Johnson; and Grace Hoffman White.

    Ownership signature on the front pastedown of Mrs. John MacKee, adding her address in Springfield, Ohio and the date, "Feb. 12, 1921." Mrs. MacKee was the chairman of the Ohio Newspaper Woman's Association.

    Condition: Front joint is cracked, with evenly toned pages. Wear to cloth covered boards, and spine is heavily sunned.
