    Description

Alfred Stieglitz Signed Copy of America & Alfred Stieglitz: A Collective Portrait. 339 pages. 8vo. Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Doran & Company. 1934. Inscribed on the front free endpaper to Frieda Lawrence, widow of author D.H. Lawrence: "For Frieda Lawrence from Alfred Stieglitz / who deeply misses Lawrence & is glad that Frieda still lives - as does he. And I'm glad too that Angelino is amongst us & of us -- Feb, 3/37 / At An American Place while Georgia [O'Keeffe] was hanging her 'show'." A wonderful association, linking three important artists of the early 20th Century: D.H. Lawrence, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Alfred Stieglitz. Cloth bound book has some wear, gently bumped corners, and the front joint is cracked. Dust jacket is not present.
