    A. A. Milne. A Gallery of Children. London: Stanley Paul & Co., [1925]. First edition. Inscribed and signed, "For Billy Moon / with lots of love / from / Blue / October 1925." Large quarto. 105 pages, complete with 12 color illustrations by Saida (H. Willebeek le Mair). Publisher's original blue cloth, stamped and lettered in gilt, spine lettered in gilt with gilt pictorial decorations, front board with pictorial illustration; cloth rubbed and moderately toned, ink stain to front board, other staining and soiling especially to rear board, tear to cloth on rear board, corners bumped and rubbed, spine moderately sunned. Cream colored endpapers, all edges trimmed, foxing and toning to text block edges, especially top edge, worming to rear free endpaper. Plates generally clean, minor soiling. Internally generally clean, some minor staining and some foxing, primarily to early leaves. Housed in a custom quarter blue crushed morocco clamshell, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, internally lined with blue velvet, near fine. Overall, book is good to very good.

    Despite condition flaws, an important association copy from the author to his five-year-old son, inscribed using the family nicknames, "Billy Moon" for Christopher Robin and "Blue" for A. A. Milne. From the Pat McInally Collection of Winnie-the-Pooh and Christopher Robin
