    [Tom Lea]. Calendar of Twelve Travelers Through the Pass of the North. [El Paso]: [Carl Hertzog], 1946. First edition, limited to 365 hand-numbered copies signed by Tom Lea a limitation page bound in front. This copy is also inscribed by Lea underneath his signature: "This copy for my compadre Elley Stevens - TL". Folio. 38 pages (unpaginated). With illustrations by Tom Lea. Cream cloth over boards with titles printed in brown on the front board and spine. Some toning along the edges of the preliminary pages but otherwise a very good copy in a toned but complete dust jacket.

    "Regarded by many as the greatest of the Lea-Hertzog collaborations, this book was eight years in the making. In 1938 Tom Lea conceived the idea as a means to acquaint El Pasoans with their community's colorful history" (Lowman, page 21). Full-page portraits by Tom Lea of Cabeza de Vaca, Espejo, Zebulon Pike, Big Foot Wallace, and eight others, with written commentary.
