First edition. Illustrated with engravings. All edges gilt, marbled end sheets, brown pebbled boards with half leather raised band spine with title and author's name in gilt, leather corners. Embossed on the front cover is: "To Mrs. Lucretia R. Garfield From The Author." In short, a sumptuous binding. Rubbing to the corners and spine ends, else very good.

Portrait frontispiece of Garfield. Illustrations. Embossed half leather spine with leather corners over marbled boards, title in gilt on spine, marbled end sheets and page edges. Inscribed "For Mrs. J.A. Garfield With the sincere regards of the author, J.M. Bundy" on the front endpaper. Minor rubbing to the spine ends and corners, else very good.

Frontispiece portrait of Garfield. Embossed full leather binding with raised bands and title in gilt on the spine, and all edges gilt. First edition. Minor rubbing to the corners and spine with the one letter of the spine flaked off, else good. With a printed poem titled "O Loved and Lost", by Edna Dean Proctor, December 1881, laid in.

Frontispiece. Embossed full leather binding with title in gilt on the spine and front cover. All edges gilt. First edition. Minor rubbing to the corners and spine. Slight uniform tanning to pages. Inscribed: "Mrs. James A. Garfield with sincere regards of D. Lothrop. Boston March 30th 1891." Except as noted, very good.

A specially bound copy in embossed full black leather presented to Lucretia Garfield. Spine decorated with gilt devices with the title and author's name stamped in gilt. Also in gilt on the front cover is: "In Memoriam JAMES A. GARFIELD." All edges gilt. Black moiré end sheets. Minor rubbing to the spine and corners, with a touch of foxing to the frontispiece and its tissue guard. Except as noted, very good.

Portrait frontispiece. Embossed full leather binding with the title in gilt on the spine, raised bands on spine. All edges gilt. Marbled end papers. Inscribed: "Lucretia R. Garfield from the Publishers 1882." Minor wear to the perimeter of the binding and moderate foxing to the frontispiece and title page, else very good.

First edition. Portrait frontispiece. Preface by Bret Harte. Red pictorial cloth with the title in black ink on the front cover. Inscribed: "To 'Grandma Garfield' with the kind remembrances of F. H. Mason, Basle, March 14th 1881" on the title page. Mason served under Garfield in the 42nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. Spine faded with soiling to the front cover, else good.
