Publisher's teal boards, backed in yellow cloth, lettered in black. Cream colored endpapers, all edges trimmed, top edge stained dark blue. Internally generally clean, with minor spotting and foxing. In original illustrated dust jacket by Paul Bacon, unclipped; somewhat worn with chipping, moderately foxed, some scratches. Very good book in a very good dust jacket.

    Basis for two films (1963 and 1999), as well as a television series.
