First edition, inscribed by Anderson to his wife on the front free endpaper: "To Cornelia Anderson / with Love. / Sherwood Anderson." Octavo. 442 pages. Publisher's full brown cloth, front board stamped in blind, front board and spine lettered in orange. In the rare original dust jacket. Jacket spine toned, some edgewear and a few small chips and tears, cloth spine a bit dull, binding with some edgewear, some rubbing to boards, front hinge just starting, a few short tears in text, some occasional toning and offsetting to text. Still, a near fine copy with an excellent association. From the collection of Donald Kaufmann.
