Philip Jose Farmer. The Magic Labyrinth. New York: Berkeley, [1980]. First edition. Inscribed at two separate times.

    More Information:

Philip Jose Farmer. The Magic Labyrinth. The Fourth Novel in the RIVERWORLD Series. New York: Berkeley, [1980]. First edition. Inscribed at two separate times by Farmer to his good friends, Bob Traurig and Maxine Meissner.

Inscribed on the half-title (presumably near the publication date) in blue ink: "To Herr Robert/"Der Teufel" Traurig/and Blue Max(ine), the/expatriated in Florida,/from/Philip Jose Farmer,/the Peoria Shaman". Beneath that inscription is a later inscription in black ink: "[line]/Updated: March 18, 1994/To Bob & Max, fellow/wanderers in The Magic Labyrinth,/from/Philip Jose Farmer". Octavo. 339, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's full black cloth, spine lettered in gilt, dust jacket. Jacket spine a bit sunned, some wear and a few tears to jacket edges, some foxing to jacket, some rubbing and light wear to binding, light foxing to endleaves. A good copy, with excellent inscriptions to good friends. There is a chapter about Farmer's friendship with Traurig (written by Farmer himself) in the upcoming Meteor House book, The Worlds of Philip Jose Farmer Portrait of a Trickster (expected publication to be in August 2012, as of this writing).

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
