Various paginations. ARC features title vignette from Sorcerer's Stone, no head-pieces; regular first issue has correct title vignette, all head-pieces. ARC bound in paper wrappers printed in multicolored diamond pattern with white text on front and spine, black text on rear. Regular first edition one-quarter purple cloth with diamond-patterned embossed green paper-covered boards, spine stamped in metallic green; with original dust jacket consisting of a single wraparound full-color illustration by Mary GrandPr├ę, with front and spine panels stamped with raised metallic lettering, back and flaps printed in white. All edges trimmed. Mild shelf wear to extremities of bindings, dust jackets; some rumpling to lower edge of rear wrapper of ARC, some loss of color to lower front hinge with bumping at corners and head and foot of backstrip, surface scuffing to wrappers. Some faint areas of soiling, shallow scratches to edges of ARC text block; a few small dark specks starting at edges of first edition. Very good to near fine with clean, bright interiors. First edition signed by J. K. Rowling on title-page at appearance hosted by Diane's Books in Greenwich, CT on October 16, 1999 to a sold-out crowd of 500, "perhaps... the last appearance J. K.
