Inscribed by Burroughs on the front free endpaper: "To / Pepita de Souza / in appreciation / of her courtesy to me / Edgar Rice Burroughs / Tarzana / March 11 1930." Octavo. [vi], 313, [1, blank] pages. With frontispiece by A. W. Sperry. Publisher's full orange cloth, front board and spine stamped in black. In the original first issue dust jacket (with the "salvery" misprint on the front flap). Cloth spine sunned, soiled, worn with several tears. Boards soiled and edgeworn, corners bumped. Front hinge with a small hole, a few gutters starting or overopened. Frontispiece is loose, but present. Text toned with occasional thumbsoiling, upper corner with occasional creasing. Jacket spine a bit sunned, some edgewear and chipping to jacket, some toning, thumbsoiling. A fair copy in a good jacket. Zeuschner, p. 385.
