Frontispiece and seven additional tipped-in plates on coated paper. Green cloth; front and spine stamped in gilt. Original dust jacket with full-color illustrated front panel and stylized title; all other panels white printed in blue and purple. Some edge wear to binding, particularly at corners, hinges, head and foot of backstrip; mild rubbing to boards. Dust jacket fairly edge-worn; soft creases, especially at flaps; some color loss at folds; light toning, soiling to white panels; flaps clipped. Repairs visible at reverse of dust jacket, including mended chips at head and foot of spine panel, edges of front and rear panels, flap folds; old tape mend visible at bottom of spine; mild toning; one spot of pale brown soiling; soft offsetting. Edges of text block toned with some surface scratches. Spine skewed; text block loose in binding but still sound. Former owner and gift inscription inked to front pastedown. Regular age toning to pages; very occasional spot soiling. Good. A first printing with undamaged "r" in "Opar" on p. 1, according to Zeuschner. The fifth Tarzan novel. Currey, L. W.
