Presentation copy, inscribed by Burroughs, on the front free endpaper: "To / Eddie Gilbert [?] / With all good wishes / Edgar Rice Burroughs / Tarzana / February 28 1940." Octavo. 315, [1, blank] pages. With five illustrated plates inserted throughout. Publisher's full blue pebbled cloth, front board and spine lettered in red, dust jackets (two dust jackets: one in the publisher's laminated state the other in the publisher's unlaminated state). Laminated jacket is chipped at spine with tape repairs to verso, minor soiling and wear to cloth spine and front board near top. Lower corners lightly bumped. Very good. With a later print of a photo of Burroughs laid-in. Zeuschner 511.
