With his embossed library blind-stamp ("From the Library of Sir Arthur C. Clarke") and his personal ink ownership stamp on the half title (with his address in Sri Lanka). Octavo. 221 pages. Publisher's black glossy paper backstrip over blue paper boards, spine lettered in silver and blue, pictorial endpapers. Original pictorial dust jacket. [together with:] Arthur C. Clarke. 2001: A Space Odyssey. London: Hutchinson, [1968]. First British edition. Octavo. 224 pages. Publisher's black cloth with titles in silver on spine. Original pictorial dust jacket. Both books have a small color photo of Clarke, his personal business card, and a signed bookplate laid in.
    First edition: Boards with small stains and toning around edges; corners, edges and spine ends gently bumped; small pencil hash marks in outer margin of the Foreword, minor soiling to first few pages after dedication page; dust jacket lightly soiled and dampstained, small edge tears and creases. Very good.
    First British edition: Boards very lightly scuffed, spine tilts slightly forward; lower corner of textblock lightly bumped, minor soiling on front free endpaper, small holograph pencil initials on rear free endpaper, few pages light finger smudges; dust jacket with light wear and foxing along edges, small corner bends, fold separation towards head between spine and rear panel. Very good.
