    William Beebe. Pheasants. Their Lives and Homes. Published Under the Auspices of the New York Zoological Society. Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Page and Company, 1926. Limited edition, number 160 of 201 sets signed by Beebe on the limitation page in the first volume.

    Two large octavo volumes. xxviii, [2], 257, [1, blank]; xv, [3], 309, [3, blank] pages. Sixty-four plates, of which thirty-two are in color. One map displaying distribution of pheasants. Publisher's full parchment with gilt spine titles. Original printed dust jackets, and one glassine cover. Mild shelf wear and soiling to the binding. Foxing to the title pages. Noticeable darkening to the jacket spines. Dust jacket of volume one separated along the front spine fold. Very good, and rare to find in the original printed jackets. With a two-page Autograph Letter Signed from Beebe to naturalist and writer, Eugene V. Connett on New York Zoological Society letterhead laid in.
