    More Information: Nicholas Lémery; Walter Harris, translator. A Course of Chymistry. Containing An easie Method of Preparing those Chymical Medicins which are used in Physick. London: Printed by R. N. for Walter Kettilby, 1686. Second edition, "very much inlarged." (Translated from the fifth French edition.) Small octavo. [28], 32, [8], 33-548, [16] pages. Four unnumbered inserted leaves featuring three full-page illustrations with explanatory text. Full early paneled calf; boards and spine tooled in gilt with gilt fillet decoration; spine with five raised bands creating six compartments, gilt lettering in second compartment from top. All edges trimmed and gilt. Marbled endpapers. Wear to edges, spine ends and joints; corners bumped; small areas of crackling, scuffing with some loss to finished surface of calf. A few scratches to edges of text block. Endpapers somewhat faded, worn, with some splitting at hinges. Very few spots of foxing, soiling scattered throughout interior. Overall a clean, bright, very good copy. With armorial bookplate of Desmond Geoghegan affixed to front pastedown, signed by Wauthier. Initial imprimatur and final advertisement leaves present.
