Quarto. *4, A-2M4. [12], 267, [12], [1] pages. Printer's device on title page, [Pace (donna seduta accanto a colonna, con ramo d'olivo nella sinistra e il braccio destro poggiato su cornucopia). In cornice figurata; Motto: Per me qui si riposa e in ciel si gode. (A35 - Z915)], historiated initials, head- and tail-pieces, several woodcut text illustrations and diagrams. Contemporary vellum soiled, pen calculations on covers, neatly written title on spine, small piece of backstrip missing at head of spine, rear hinge opened, front hinge opening, opening leaves dampstained with traces of mold and softened, old signatures on title page, other pages dampstained, lightly soiled, tear in page 213 not affecting text, minor paper loss on lower right of page 201 not affecting tables, scattered pen marks and annotations, else a good copy of a well-used scientific text.     Padovani (circa 1516-1590) mathematician and astronomer, student of Pietro Pitati, lived in Verona (Tiraboschi, VII,657) and published a number of scientific treatises. This treatise on the sundial was first published in 1570.
