[xvi], 138, [2, blank] pages, with 8-page publisher's catalog at back. With five diagrams and a portrait frontispiece. Publisher's original red cloth, front board stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt; corners just bumped, top and bottom edge of spine just pushed, slightly cocked, small stain to back board. Cream colored endpapers, top and fore-edges trimmed, bottom edge untrimmed; ink ownership to front pastedown, endpapers with some [glue?] stains, hinges starting. Internally generally clean with some intermittent foxing, a few unobtrusive pencil annotations. Original printed orange dust jacket; moderately toned, some staining, expert repairs to both top and bottom edges, particularly to spine panel. Housed in a blue cloth clamshell, E = mc^2 in raised letters to front board, gilt stamped leather label to spine. Near fine book in a very good dust jacket with expert repairs, rare in the dust jacket at auction.
