[Thomas A. Edison]. Terry Ramsaye. A Million and One Nights. A History of the Motion Picture. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1926. First edition, limited to 327 copies, this copy being number 130. Signed by Ramsaye and Thomas A. Edison. Additionally inscribed by Ramsaye on endpaper, "To the Barretts: / Wilton and Frances / friends of mine / and the movies / Jerry Ramsaye / New York / February 17, 1927". Quarto. lxx, 400; 401-868 pages. Index. Frontispiece portrait, illustrated throughout with black and white photographic reproductions. Modern plain brown cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spines. Mild toning to pages edges. A few tick-marks in pencil to Index, otherwise clean textblocks. A very good set.

A lavish production, chronicling the history of the silver screen, with wonderful vintage photographs -- as Edison states, "the first endeavor to set down the whole and true story of the motion picture...through his years of preparation...I am aware of [the author's] effort at exact fact. A high degree of detailed accuracy has been attained."

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
