    Two octavo volumes. [xvi], 405, [1, blank]; [iv], [444] pages. With six fold-out plates inserted at the end of volume I. Half-titles present. Contemporary award binding from the Académie de Paris in full tan calf, board ruled in gilt, gilt central award stamp, spine tooled in gilt in compartments, brown gilt morocco lettering labels, four raised bands, gilt board edges and turn-ins, all edges gilt, marbled endleaves. Spines darkened, some wear and mild soiling to bindings, corners bumped, neat contemporary ownership inscription on the verso of each front free endpaper. Still, a near fine set of this important work on organic analysis.
