    Description

Ronald Reagan. An American Life. Simon and Schuster, [1990]. First edition, one of 2,000 copies signed by President Reagan (this being number 1427). Octavo. 748, [4, blank] pages. With signed limitation page inserted at front. Bound in publisher's deluxe binding of full blue morocco, front cover and spine ruled and stamped in gilt, two raised bands, marbled endleaves, all edges gilt. Fine. Housed in the original publisher's beautiful custom-made oak box with the Presidential Seal embossed in gilt on the top of the hinged lid, and lined in royal blue velveteen. The front drawer houses six audiocassettes of President Reagan's speeches. Cassette cases have some occasional rubbing, else fine. Box is rubbed at corners, the left corner of the box above the cassette drawer and the left portion of the drawer has mild chipping, the right hinge of the box lid is loose, with some cracking of the lid near the affected hinge. A near fine example of this handsome and impressive set, a must-have for any admirer of President Reagan.
