First American edition preceding the English by four days. 1,250 copies were issued in cloth; 3,000 in wrappers. Octavo. [8], [1]-138, [14] publisher's catalog pages. Publisher's original yellow printed wrappers. Front wrapper detached; wrappers chipped along the edges and lacking one small section of the upper corner of the front wrapper. Closed tear on the half-title page. Former owner's bookplate mounted horizontally on the half-title page.
