Octavo (6.75 x 4.25 inches; 171 x 108 mm). 141 pages. Bound in half brown calf with paper boards, lined by gilt, with spine with gilt decoration; joints and edges worn. Spot on top right-hand edge of binding. Marbled endpapers. Top edge of pages gilt. Cloth bookmark attached. Bookplate of previous owner. In custom made cloth box. Overall good condition.

    This short gothic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, written after the author experienced a nightmare, is a frightening exploration of duality. It is about a London lawyer who investigates the strange circumstances linking his old friend Dr. Henry Jekyll to the evil Edward Hyde.
