Head and foot of spine just pushed, dampstaining to top edge of upper board. White endpapers; effaced pencil notations to front free endpaper recto. Internally generally clean and tight, all edges trimmed; minor intermittent foxing. Dust jacket unclipped ($3.95); minor edgewear, minor chipping to head and foot of spine. Near fine book with near fine dust jacket.

    This title was first serialized in a much-abridged form in Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine under the title "Starship Soldier." It went on to win the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1960 and is listed as a First Purchase (Core Collection) title by Anatomy of Wonder.
