[iii]-x, [2], 707, [1] pages. Eight plates and two folding maps, plans. Original textured green publisher's cloth; boards stamped in blind; spine decorated in gilt; front with gilt beehive ornament. All edges rough-trimmed. Rebacked with original backstrip laid down; corners and edges bumped with some wear; rubbing to binding with a drip of black soiling to rear board; vertical creasing to backstrip wtih some loss to gilt. Occasional foxing, spot staining scattered throughout; a couple of pages browned from material previously laid in, including a newspaper clipping still present between plate and page 116; some rippling to pages from handling. About very good. Recounts a portin of Burton's 1860 travels in Canada and the United States.
