    Richard Burton. The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night. [No place]: Privately printed for the Burton Club, [circa 1903-1904]. Illustrated Benares edition, limited to 1000 sets; the earliest Burton Club reprint. Seventeen volumes, octavo (9.375 x 6.25 inches; 239 x 157 mm.). Each volume illustrated with frontispiece and numerous plates after various artists, printed on vellum, tissue guards. Contemporary half red morocco over red cloth covered boards by Bayntun; spines in six compartments with five raised bands, two compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, others decoratively stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, others untrimmed; marbled endpapers. Spines just a shade dulled; bottom board edges very gently worn; some corners very softly bumped; small remnant of adhesive paper to rear endpaper of Volume I; small gouge to front board of Volume IV; occasional shallow rippling to cloth.
