Publisher's blue cloth, spine and front board lettered in white; top edge stained light red, others untrimmed; plain endpapers; in the original dust jacket, printed on thick paper and priced $2.00. Back strip very faintly dulled; light spotty discoloration along the joints; spine ends and corners very lightly worn. Free endpapers with some very faint discoloration along the gutter; leaf with pages 117-118 torn with the fore-edge margin with sizable paper-loss (about one and seven-eighths inches long but strictly relegated to the margins, not affecting any text). Dust jacket spine panel very faintly dulled; short closed tear to the upper edge of the rear panel; folds lightly creased with a few small nicks at the fold edges; light thumb-soiling to the front flap. A beautiful, near fine copy. Uncommon with no auction records listed in Rare Book Hub and only one copy of the Photoplay found listed in the trade (January 2019). Source for the 1932 pre-code film of the same name, starring Ginger Rogers. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
