    John Martin. Illustrations of the Bible. London: Charles Tilt, [1838]. First collected and bound edition. Folio (17.125 x 11.625 inches; 435 x 293 mm.). Forty-eight unnumbered pages and twenty mezzotint engravings, interleaved with paper guards. Recent half black leather with marbled paper-covered boards; original cloth front and spine title laid down. Normal shelf wear and dust soiling at extremities of binding. Edges of text block toned; principally marginal foxing and brown spotting throughout, most extensive at plates, with some offsetting onto facing pages. Repaired split to "Seventh Plague" plate, not affecting image. Very good. From the Illustrated Book Collection of David Salinas.
