Small octavo. Bound in hard plastic with raised decorative cross on front cover. Ornamented with a simple brass lock. All edges gilt. Front board bowed. Foxing scattered throughout. Offsetting on pages from plates and possibly from flora pressed within. Else, near fine.

Ksiazka do Nabozenstwa dla Wszystkich Katolikow a Szczegolniej dla Tych, Ktorzy w Uciskach i Utrapieniach Szukaja ulgi i Pociechy za Przyczyna "Pocieszycielki utrapionych." Warsaw: J. Steinbrenera, [1904]. 448 pages. Text in Polish. Small octavo. Bound in hard plastic with an elaborate metal and plastic design on the front cover. Ornamented with a brass lock. Gilt edges faded to a barely noticeable state. Browning, soiling, and light scattered foxing throughout. Tearing on pp. 73-80, affecting text and illustrations with some loss. Else, in very good condition.
    Wilhelm Smets. Maria hilf! Gebet und Erbauungsbuch fur alle Verehrer der seligsten jungfrau Maria. Einsielden: Benziger Brothers, [1882]. Text in German. 448 pages. Bound in violet-colored velvet with metail decoration of a goblet on the front cover, and a simple lock. All edges gilt. Both hinges have been repaired. Inscription on one front flyleaf, written in German and dated "1891." Browning on pages with some light staining on p. 15. A fine edition.
    The Key of Heaven: A Selection of Devotions Compiled from Approved Sources. San Francisco: The O'Connor Co., Inc. [1899]. 216 pages. Frontispiece. Small octavo. Bound in soft plastic covers and a slightly stained cloth spine. All edges gilt, yet faded to a copper tone. A small plastic figurine of Jesus Christ on the cross on the front paste-down. Spine leaning. Textblock cockled. Dampstaining and toning along edges and throughout. Ink and pencil notations inscribed on the front flyleaves, and a pencil tracing of the title page illustration is drawn on the accompanying tissue guard. Textblock is over-opened at pp. 16-17, as well as pp. 192-193 where the spine lining is exposed. Very good.
    The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ London: Robert Barker, 1630. [bound with:] T. Sternhold, I. Hopkins, et al. The Whole Book of Psalms. London: Company of Stationers, 1632. Bound in needlework dos-à-dos binding. Cloth starting to fray on covers. Rear joint starting at head on The New Testament; front paste-down lacking with rear paste-down torn; ink "W" on fore-edge of one side with an "I" on the tail; an open tear on inner margin of the title page, affecting he text of the Contents page on verso. Ink ownership signature on verso of front flyleaf of The Whole Book of Psalms, "Sarah Susanna Browne, 1748." Very good.
    [Almanac] Gothaischer hof Kalendar zum Nutzen und Vergnugen auf das Jahr, 1792. Gotha: C. W. Ettinger, 1792. Text in German. 15 black and white plates. 1 folding plate. Small octavo. Needlework binding on cream satin, with decorative embroidery and beaded work. Cloth binding is fraying, exposing boards at their joints. The front cover and beginning pages are starting to separate at the tail of the first page. The textblock is shaken and cockled, with browning and darkening on its edges. Lacking pp. 17-18. Over-opened in several places. Rear free endpaper is damaged. Folding plate facing D1 has pencil marks on verso and a large closed tear near the inner margin with some creasing. A good copy.
