    More Information:

Ray Bradbury. Original Corrected Typescript for the Short Story, The Town Where No One Got Off. [N.p.]: EQ (Ellery Queen magazine), [1950]. Inscribed by Bradbury.

Inscribed by Bradbury on the preliminary page (this page was probably typed by Bradbury, even though it is on different paper and does not fall within the pagination of the rest of the manuscript): "Jim!/From Ray Bradbury Dec. 12,/1978". Fourteen quarto typewritten pages on plain white paper with Bradbury's corrections in ink. Approximately 11 x 8.5. Rectos only. With a quarto yellow page from Ellery Queen ("EQ") with typed information about this story and with editorial instructions in pencil. Together, sixteen quarto pages. Some toning and general wear, a few tears and creases. Still, a near fine original typescript by Bradbury. This short story appeared in Ellery Queen magazine in the October, 1950 issue, and was adapted and filmed for an episode of the television series, Ray Bradbury Theater (season two, episode one), which aired on February 22, 1986 and starred Jeff Goldblum. On the preliminary page, Bradbury calls this story an "Offbeat Crime Story".

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
