DescriptionRalph Ellison. Invisible Man. New York: Random House, (1952). First edition. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper. Octavo (8.25 x 5.5 inches; 209 x 140 mm.). [viii], 439, [1, blank]. Publisher's two-tone black and cream cloth title on spine in white with decoration stamped in grey wrapping around the spine to the front and rear board; top edge stained; in original illustrated dust jacket. Jacket creased throughout, particularly around front fold and spine ends and a large crease running through the width of the front panel. Rear panel mildly rubbed. Touch of toning to lighter portion of cloth; titles on spine partially worn away; small splashes to top and fore edge; front endpapers mildly toned and foxed. A very good copy. Housed in a custom clamshell case.
