    Description

Steel Engravings of Constantinople and the Bosphorus. From The Beauties of the Bosphorus; Views of Constantinople and Its Environs by Miss Pardoe, London: George Virtue, 1838. An exceptional lot of six engravings after drawings by W. H. Bartlett featuring various views of Constantinople and the Bosphorus. Scenes include the mosque of Chazade, the seven towers, Fort Beil-Gorod, and three others. As an added bonus, the original title page of the book and the list of illustrations is included with the lot. Each plate measures 11 x 8.25 inches. The white borders of each plate have toned slightly with age and there are a few areas of scattered light foxing and staining, otherwise they are in very good condition. Once framed, these detailed illustrations would make a perfect accompaniment to any den, study, office, or business.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
