    Lot of Four Tinted Plates From 1856 War Department Railroad Survey. From Report on the Topographical Features and Character of the Country, Washington, D.C.: War Department, 1856, part of the larger work Explorations and Surveys for a Railroad Route From the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. Four tinted plates measuring 11.5 x 9 inches, featuring views of Mojave villages on the Rio Colorado river. The plates have toned, with some foxing and damp stain on a few examples, else they are in good condition. Each plate, once framed and matted, would make wonderful additions to the décor of any home, school, office or business.
