Description
The Last Day Transfer Ticket of the Actual Streetcar Named Desire, Signed by Tennessee Williams
[Tennessee Williams]. New Orleans Streetcar Transfer Ticket for
the Streetcar "Desire". [New Orleans]: Sun., May 30, 1948.
The complete ticket, with all transfers (Direct, two
Intermediate, and Final). Printed in black and red on light
brown paper. Approximately 10.25 x 2 inches. Matted, framed and
glazed. Signed by Tennessee Williams on the lower right corner
of the matte, "Best/Tennessee/1974". In another hand, on the
same matte, is written in the same ink: "Desire Streetcar/Last Day
Transfer". Ticket a bit toned (the red printing is a bit faint),
minor wear to frame. Overall, a near fine example of a unique item
which should be much prized by any Tennessee Williams collector.
Sunday, May 30, 1948 was the final day that the "Desire" streetcar
ran on its route. It was replaced by a bus on the next day.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.View More Testimonials
As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
