    Description

A Large Run of The Photo Era Magazine, from 1898 to 1932

[Photography]. The Photo Era. A Monthly Magazine Devoted to Artistic Photography. Boston and Wolfeboro: The Photo Era Publishing Company and Wilfred A. French, 1898-1932. Sixty-eight volumes of this monthly journal, bound in fifty-six large octavo volumes. Profusely illustrated. Some images mounted lithographs. Various bindings (mostly cloth bindings). Bindings worn and soiled, most with library markings. Some bindings with loose boards; some loose pages, a few pages with material excised, some bindings shaken. Generally good. This nearly complete and consecutive set (only lacking volumes 3, 4, and 9) gives a good look at early twentieth century amateur photography. Contributors include Alvin Langdon Coburn, Edward Weston, and J. B. Schriever.
