    Wonderful Example of British Portrait Photography

    [Photography]. Splendid Example of a Late 19th-Century British Aristocratic Family Photo Album. Ca. late 1870s and early 1880s. Folio. Contemporary full morocco with light rubbing and scuffing. "Alice" stamped in gilt on front. All edges gilt. Twenty-one leaves (about one-third of the entire body) with mounted photographs to rectos, many with charming hand-decorations surrounding and enhancing the photos. Tissue guards to most leaves. First leaf detached. Scattered foxing. Photographs include Henry Danby Seymour and Alfred Seymour, both members of Parliament and with a photograph of Knoyle House accompanying. Very good condition.
