    Description

Philip K. Dick. The Man in the High Castle. New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1962.

First edition (Code D36 at base of page 239 denotes the first issue, per Currey). Octavo. 239 pages.

Black cloth over boards. Red lettering to front cover and spine. Top edge yellow. Slight lean to the binding. Front panel of dust jacket has a neat five-inch closed vertical cut on the front panel, which continues as a two-inch horizontal closed tear. Very good.

This alternate history novel by science-fiction author Philip K. Dick, suggesting what may have happened if the Axis powers had won World War II, won the Hugo Award in 1962. Neil Barron, in Anatomy of Wonder, considers the book a "cleanly written although complexly plotted work [...]. Dick's best."

    Anatomy of Wonder, p. 177. Currey. p. 157.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
