Octavo (8 x 5.5 inches; 203 x 140 mm.). [vi], 375, [1, publisher's device], [2, blank] pages. Publisher's light brown cloth, spine and front board lettered and ruled in gilt and decoratively stamped in blind; top edge stained green, others rough-trimmed; green and white pictorial endpapers; in original dust jacket. Spine with only the slightest hint of a lean; a few minor ripples to the backstrip; gilt just barely tarnished; only a touch of wear to corners and bottom of the spine. Text block sagging just a hair; occasional faint foxing to page edges. Dust jacket folds lightly soiled and softly creased; edges of the folds with small nicks or closed tears; upper edge of rear spine fold with a small chip; some insignificant wear and soiling along the upper edge; small marginal bruise to the rear panel. A near fine copy. Winner of the 1932 Pulitzer Prize for the Novel.
