First edition of the author's first book. With a bookplate signed by the author laid-in. Octavo. 174 pages. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board and spine stamped in white, dust jacket. Cloth spine and board-edges rubbed and toned. Endleaves toned and foxed, ownership signature on front free endpaper, text lightly toned and occasionally foxed. Jacket toned, foxed, with some edgewear and mild chipping, creasing. Very good.

Presentation copy, inscribed by Conroy on the half-title: "To Blue Sproull / Here's to your writing / career / Pat Conroy / June 28, 1984." Octavo. 536 pages. Publisher's full orange cloth, spine stamped in black, dust jacket. Cloth spine a bit sunned and rubbed at edges, mild rubbing, bumping to boards. Jacket toned, soiled, rubbed, with a few creased tears. Good.
